The Lilly Belle..

Danny and I just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, I can not believe that it has been that long since we took our wedding vows. I can not say that all 15 years have been perfect and easy, they have not. We have experienced life's changes, many up and downs, and many, many joys. To celebrate our 15 years of being married, we went to Disneyland! I know, we go all the time...but this trip was wonderful! It was a joy to walk through Disneyland and not be rushed, we got to do all sorts of things we never do, like have 2 wonderful sit down meals, one with a glass of wine! We sat and listened to the bands, looked at the windows on main street, and we went on a 3 1/2 our tour, called Walk in Walt's footsteps, which was just amazing. It was a wonderful look at the history of Disneyland, we learned some hidden secrets, and had a great time! Another highlight of our trip was getting to ride in the Lilly Belle, a restored railroad car that Walt Disney used for dignitaries and presidents when they came to Disneyland. It truly is a beautiful car, and we shared our train ride with another anniversary couple, who were celebrating their 31st. We had a great time, and enjoyed our time away :) The boys had a grand visit with MaryAnn their favorite babysitter from EN..where we used to live. She even took them to Disneyland one day. We were all sad to see her go this morning, she is a blessing to us!

So now it is time to get ready for school..Ethan and I went to the 6th grade orientation today, I know we were both a little nervous. Ethan got to experience a "mini" day, where he went to each class for 7 minutes, and rotated around the campus. He met a boy named Michael, who has 3 classes with him, and I met a new mom! We spent much of our morning chatting about our boys, and found out they have a lot in common, so we are hoping to get together with them before school starts, so they will at least have one familiar face on campus the first day of school. I bought Ethan a gym uniform, and walked around the campus a little myself. It actually isn't too big, and I was very impressed with the principal and their policy on teaching students to be respectful, and her zero tolerance on bullying. Being the parent of a small boy, who loves music and drama, and dislikes any and all sports, bullying is at the top of my list of fears! Ethan will be able to be in the chours, which we are both thrilled about. We met the chorus teacher today, and they have an all boys choir..Ethan can't wait. I think, that with lots of prayers, we may survive this.
On the way home, Ethan said, you know mom, the first day of school is going to be okay, I will just do what I did today, except I will be in class for a hour, I'm not as nervous now, and my English teacher made me laugh today. And so the middle school adventure begins!
